about clothesline
Clothesline Organics opened on the southside of Bethlehem in April of 2006. The labor of love of owners Kim Schaffer and Josh Bushey, we opened Clothesline to bring eco-friendly and sweatshop-free clothing to the Lehigh Valley.
We’d long bought organic clothing for ourselves, but could only find pieces online. We figured that if we’d appreciate a place to go where we could actually browse to find stylish and high-quality pieces, so would other Lehigh Valley residents. Plus, we knew we’d enjoy getting to meet our neighbors while providing people with a way to look and feel their best. So we packed up and moved from Washington, DC, back to the Lehigh Valley to find the perfect place to set up shop. And here we are! Since 2006, we’ve enjoyed offering our customers modern classics, the best of the trends, and basic essentials in organic cotton, bamboo, and cashmere.
We are committed to providing our customers only the highest-quality items. If anything you purchase does not live up to your expectations of quality, please bring it back and we’ll make it right for you.
We are committed to a triple-bottom line: people, planet and profit. We are members of the Sustainable Business Network of the Lehigh Valley and Co-op America.
During the harvest season, we are pleased to serve as a pick-up location for CSAs for two local farms: Quiet Creek Farm in Fogelsville and Seasons’ Harvest in Lenharstville. Check them out!
We are Bethlehem residents. On most days (but not always!) we walk to work. In 2007, Kim was appointed to Bethlehem’s Environmental Advisory Committee, and Josh was elected treasurer of the Lehigh Valley Homebrewers.
We sincerely appreciate your support. Please come by to say hello!
